As a young girl growing up in suburban Philadelphia, I loved to accompany my father to Phillies games at Connie Mack Stadium, and then Veteran’s Stadium. He taught me all the rules of the game and how to keep score, which I did at every game we attended. Baseball was such a big part of my life that I couldn’t wait for spring to go to games or have catches with my father.
Today, I have been to many major league games with my own children, but nothing compares to the pleasure that I get when I attend their own games and watch them play with more heart than any major leaguer. I still keep score at every game, but now I get to tuck in the players every night.…
